Space to find the spring in your step again
Hello, I'm Lisa.
I offer counselling outdoors (often called walk and talk therapy) around Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks in Kent. I also offer online counselling, both UK-wide and worldwide.
Maybe you're a counsellor looking for Clinical Supervision or tailored support for counsellors returning after a break in practice?
Or maybe you're a local business, looking to support your team with my Compassion Fatigue & Burnout Prevention workshop for Helping Professionals? (more info coming soon!)
With over 15 years in counselling, advocacy and other areas of the helping professions, I'm a fully qualified counsellor and registered with the BACP. I have a particular interest in supporting people who feel they are on the path to, or coming back from, burnout.
If you've landed on this page wondering about counselling, you might be feeling that something really needs to shift. Perhaps you've been feeling pretty lost.
Your 'feeling burnt out' might be different to someone else's, and it's your experience that I'm here to explore.
We can feel burnt out in all kinds of contexts - in parenting, caregiving, friendships, employment and elsewhere... Basically, in all those spaces where we're giving, giving, giving of ourselves.
For some, burnout can feel like being overwhelmed and exhausted by everything you have to do, while still worrying that you're not doing enough.
Too many demands, too much stress, and a feeling that you could really do with some more internal and external resources to cope with it all.
Perhaps you want support with a particular challenge, such as parenting or caring responsibilities, anxiety, workplace stress or low self-confidence, for example. Perhaps you're wanting to untangle some particular themes or events in your life, without the fear of judgment.
Maybe you are wishing that you could feel more motivated, connected and fulfilled?
Research (cited in Psychology Today) has shown that being listened to in a non-judgmental way, undoing shame, guilt and emotional isolation, can be extremely powerful when you are feeling burnt out.
To see what that non-judgmental listening might look like, feel free to look at my Services: What Can I Expect? page.
There's a short video below, introducing my outdoor counselling sessions and featuring some friendly squirrel cameos. This video was kindly made by George of Tonbridge Town Team / Treedia, when I was chosen for their 'Business of the Week' feature in spring 2023:
Feeling overloaded or trapped by home or family life, perhaps as a parent or carer
Feeling worn out by work or studies, exhausted and losing motivation
Feeling isolated and anxious in your friendships or relationships
Feeling despondent following recent world events
Feeling overwhelmed by something that has happened
Feeling that you want your needs to be heard and respected
Thinking that the freedom and natural environment of walk and talk therapy appeals to you
With options for open-ended or brief counselling, let's build a space for your voice to be heard.
